Together with the Swiss cloud native startup Isovalent, we are organizing a hybrid event on August 23, 2021 focusing on Cilium, eBPF as well as an introduction to the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) by none other than the General Manager of the CNCF, Priyanka Sharma herself.
Cilium is an open source project from Isovalent, which is driving the revolution for network security and visibility in cloud environments. At the core of Cilium is the new Linux kernel technology eBPF, which gives the Linux kernel “super power”.
August 23, at 3 p.m. – 5 p.m.
on location: Lagerstrasse 104, 8004 Zurich (Kosmos)
remote: The link will be sent shortly before the event.

Priyanka Sharma is the General Manager at Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF). She focuses on making cloud native technology ubiquitous by hosting 100+ open source projects with 120k+ code contributors serving more than 650+ member companies.
The Cloud Native Computing Foundation seeks to drive adoption of this paradigm by fostering and sustaining an ecosystem of open source, vendor-neutral projects. We democratize state-of-the-art patterns to make these innovations accessible for everyone. In her talk `Introduction to the CNCF: the Home of Cloud Native” She will provide a high-level overview of who the CNCF is, what they do, why people become members, and key technology initiatives right now.
Liz Rice is Chair of the CNCF Technical Oversight Committee and author of the book Container Security . She answers the question of why eBPF, the technology behind Cilium, is a pioneer and trailblazer for many more exciting innovations in the cloud native environment.
Thomas Graf is CTO of Isovalent , founder of the Cilium project and longtime Linux kernel developer. He will give an overview of the Cilium project and show you why Cilium is driving the revolution in cloud native networking, security and observability.
All speakers will hold their talks on site in Zurich and will be available for discussions and questions at the aperitif afterwards.
For safety, all participants must be vaccinated, recovered or tested for physical participation (please bring you covid certificate). The event will also be streamed live.
